epilogue

Pallotta Teamworks, the company that produced all of the AIDSRides and the Breast Cancer Walks, closed its doors in the fall. While they left it open that they are still committed to helping the causes they believe in, they could no longer survive financially. They had been getting a lot of criticism for their returns over the past two years, even though they were still bringing in millions of dollars to the beneficiaries. 2002 was an especially hard year for charity fundraising and also the year that Pallotta had tried to significantly expand their events.

The AIDS Action Committee in Boston is stepping up to fill the gap in the Northeast. In October, Sha and I attended a meeting to talk about the possibility of the AAC organizing a ride for local beneficiaries. They took what they heard back to their board and got permission to produce an event. Not much has been decided yet but Sha and I will be involved in the planning for this one, in addition to participating. If you’d like to be involved with this, email me and I’ll put you in touch with the right people.

update - 07/15/03

A lot has happened in the last few months. Sha and I have been active in helping the AAC plan for the upcoming ride. Once again, we'll be riding. Here is the information about the Aids Action Ride.
