briefs
In addition to my resume, I have prepared some additional materials that provide more detail on particular projects than is practical in a resume. The projects are presented chronologically, with the most recent project listed first.

a new product - Client: Vitivity, 2002
As part of a multi-disciplinary design team, I created use cases and object models that conform to UML standards. I also created materials to communicate the design direction for use in venture and partner presentations. The company is a spin off of Millennium Pharmaceuticals. Further details and results are confidential at this time.

a pair of product web sites - Client: Genzyme, 2002
Faced with a limited budget, I helped the client apply the generic corporate site design standards to meet the specific goals of each product's specific audience. I created site maps and wireframes and lead the client in understanding the value of these tools in the design process. I ensured tha the design met all applicable FDA and HIPAA requirements. Until the sites are published, further detials and reusults remain confidential.

program management digital dashboard - Client: Sapient, 2002
An internal initiative, the goal of this project was a web-based tool to allow Sapient and their clients to collaborate in running Program Management Offices or PMO’s. I created the screens, coordinated with the engineers, and conducted user tests. Testing generated a list of current gaps and future enhancements and those tested said that it would be useful on their current project.

pharmagenomic concept - Client: Sapient for (confidential), 2001
The client came to sapient with an initial idea. They needed the idea defined and material developed that could be used by the CEO to pursue funding. The timeframe was aggressive. Using an innovative approach to design documentation, the project was completed on time and the client got the funding they were seeking.

AirClic account manager - Client: Sapient for AirClic, 2001
AirClic, a new company, needed an online tool for their customer service representatives to manage their client accounts. Using a modular design approach with repeatable elements, the site was completed within a tight time frame that could not have been met using a more traditional approach.

AT&T Interactive Advantage assessment - Client: Sapient for AT&T, 2001
As part of en effort to engage AT&T, I conducted interviews with ATT customer service representatives and internal IT customers that informed a heuristic analysis of an online tool used by customers and account representatives to manage their communication services. During the presentation of the findings, a regional VP said that common client complaints had been clearly articulated for the first time.

Sapient intranet - Client: Sapient, 2000-2001
The corporate intranet contains hundreds of individually managed sites that need to maintain a consistent look and feel. I helped develop a compressed design process for internal clients to follow, including deliverable templates and oversaw the production of new sites on the intranet. I lead a team of three responsible for the user experience, and coordinated with the technology team locally and in India. The result is that sites had a greater consistency and level of usability.

stand-alone production print client - Client: Xerox, 1998-2000
This application is used to submit documents with highly complex print instructions to a high-volume color printer. Replacing a very old legacy application, this product was a clean-sheet design that met comprehensive technical requirements and was thoroughly user tested.

ppd print client - Client: Xerox, 1998-2000
This Windows NT print driver (File menu / Print) for submitting documents to high-volume black and white printers needed to meet numerous requirements from Microsoft and Adobe in order to be included in the default Windows NT installation. This project was an exercise in design compromises.
